'Pan de Muerto' translates to 'Bread of the Dead': A beautifully symbolic pan dulce, traditionally eaten during the month of Dia de Muertos. A soft, sweet bun infused with orange zest, traditionally topped with a dusting of sugar.
The round loaf represents the cycle of life and death, while the cross on the top represent the bones of the departed.
Our large Pan de Muerto is perfect to share for up to 5 people.
Best served with Mexican hot chocolate, or to decorate your ofrenda to honour the spirits of your loved ones on Dia de los Muertos.
Ingredients: Wheat flour, milk, sugar, eggs, butter, yeast, salt, vanilla and orange zest.
